Sanding and oiling reveal the timber's natural colour variation through the restaurant interior. The board layout connects the dining area and bar, with an oil finish that allows the grain and texture to remain prominent.

Designed and fabricated on site, this parquetry combines interlocking geometric forms with a framed border. Accurate cutting and alignment are central to the repeating three-dimensional effect and its fit within the hallway. The border frames the repeating field, while changes in grain direction create the illusion of depth.

Paired blocks give the herringbone pattern a broader rhythm across this residential room. Installation, sanding and staining bring the pattern and timber grain together beneath the final coating.
